1964 Galaxie 500 XL
Z code: 390 (4 barrel) Top load 4 speed Raven Black with black interior 2-door fastback. My Grandfather bought new in 64' and was his daily driver until he passed in 72'. Car went to his sister in Roundup, Montana with 147K miles and sat in garage for 42 years. When she passed, my father was contacted and asked if he wanted his fathers car. Well, he did not hesitate and drove back with my youngest Son and trailered it back to our home. With a little love it fired right up and cleaned up nicely. Car has original paint, interior and trim. My father drove it around until 2020 when we decided to freshen up Engine, Transmission, new clutch, detail engine bay etc., and install tri-power carburation. Unfortunately, my father passed before seeing the car completed but he would have approved how it turned out. Recently I just updated front suspension with new ball joints, bushings, tie rods and replaced off-set control arm shaft with straight shaft from Born Again Classics. I Enjoy driving my grandfathers car, go to few shows but like the car cruises which we have some near by.
